Google Beam expands to five new countries and adds bookable rooms at Industrious
Google is shipping its 3D video platform Beam to customers in six countries, backed by 18 channel partners, and will make HP Dimension rooms bookable at Industrious workspaces in four U.S. cities from October.

Google Beam ships to six countries
Google has expanded Beam, its 3D video communication platform, into five new countries. According to a post on the Google AI blog, Beam units are now shipping to customers across six markets — the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Germany and Japan — supported by a global ecosystem of 18 channel partners that Google says are fully equipped to deploy and support the system.
Beam is built around a single premise, Google writes: recreating genuine face-to-face connection regardless of distance. The platform, which grew out of Google's Project Starline research into lifelike remote communication, has been tested with early users and inside Google's own offices.
HP hardware, Meet and Zoom integration
The commercial offering ships as HP Dimension with Google Beam, with HP acting as Google's flagship hardware partner. Google says the product integrates with both Google Meet and Zoom, giving enterprises the flexibility to run Beam sessions through the meeting tools they already use rather than through a standalone service.
Self-reported gains and early customers
Google says an eight-week internal study found that teams using Beam felt 50% more connected to one another, found it 33% easier to ensure their feedback was clearly understood, and saw a 21% drop in the need for follow-up meetings. On the strength of those results, the company says it is expanding Beam deployment among its own workforce alongside customers. Those figures are Google's own and come from testing inside Google rather than an independent evaluation.
Beyond internal use, Google points to field work with Bain and Company, which tested HP Dimension with Google Beam for campus recruiting and candidate interviews earlier this year. According to Google, Bain was able to hold authentic face-to-face conversations with candidates anywhere without extensive travel. Netflix and Capital Group are named among other early customers looking to connect distributed workforces.
Industrious partnership opens bookable Beam rooms
To widen access beyond organizations willing to buy hardware outright, Google is partnering with Industrious, a global operator of premium flexible workspaces, to create what it calls the first Beam extended network. A pilot earlier this year covered distributed-team use cases such as manager check-ins, interviews and client consultations.
Starting in October, HP Dimension with Google Beam can be booked directly at select Industrious locations in the U.S., including Atlanta, Chicago, New York City and Palo Alto. Google frames the network as a way for startups and businesses of all sizes to try the technology and make remote meetings feel more natural without owning the equipment.
Why it matters
The announcement marks Beam's shift from a research showcase toward a globally distributed commercial product. Shipping hardware across six countries with an 18-partner channel — and integrating with both Google Meet and rival Zoom — signals that Google is positioning Beam as enterprise collaboration infrastructure rather than an experiment.
The Industrious deal may matter as much as the geographic expansion. Bookable rooms lower the barrier to entry for companies that cannot justify purchasing dedicated 3D video hardware, giving Google a way to build demand and a proof-of-concept pipeline at the same time.
The open question is whether the connectivity gains Google reports internally hold up outside its own offices. The Bain recruiting pilot points to at least one concrete enterprise payoff in reduced travel, and results from Netflix, Capital Group and Industrious customers will help show whether 3D video meetings become a standard layer of remote work or remain a premium niche.
