Meta One bundles pair Muse AI with app subscriptions starting at $7.99 a month

Meta's new One subscription bundles combine Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp Plus with extra AI generation through Muse, with tiers for individuals, creators and businesses running up to $499 a month.

Meta One bundles pair Muse AI with app subscriptions starting at $7.99 a month

Meta has put a price on its consumer AI strategy. According to The Verge, the company has rolled out Meta One, a set of subscription bundles that combine its paid Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp subscriptions with additional AI generation through Muse, the multipurpose assistant it debuted shortly before the launch. The bundles went live globally on September 15th, after some of them were tested earlier in the year.

The Verge notes that Meta is framing this as additive rather than a paywall: the "core experience" across its apps and Meta AI stays free, and each app subscription can still be bought on its own. The company also says it intends to widen the bundles over time to cover Edits, its AI glasses, and other products.

Individual bundles undercut the standalone total

Two tiers target individual users. Core costs $7.99 per month and Premium costs $19.99 per month, and both bundle Instagram Plus, WhatsApp Plus and Facebook Plus together. On the AI side, they include what Meta describes as "more media generation with Meta AI," such as generating images with Muse or using in-app features like Instagram's Restyle.

The pricing is deliberately attractive. Subscribing to all three app services separately would run $11 per month, according to The Verge, making the Core bundle a few dollars cheaper. That gap gives users a reason to consolidate, and gives Meta a single subscription relationship to build on.

Business tiers scale to $499 per month

Four further tiers serve creators and businesses, priced from $14.99 to $499 per month. All include the individual app subscriptions plus perks such as a bold follow button, a verified badge, higher placement in search results, and monitoring for impersonation accounts.

Essential, at $14.99 per month, is aimed at establishing a presence with new audiences. It adds presence-management tools, more access to the Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp for responding to customers around the clock, a verified channel in the WhatsApp Business app, and impersonation protection subject to successful verification.

Advanced, at $49.99 per month, is positioned as the professional tier. It brings publishing features such as scheduling stories up to 30 days ahead, links in organic posts and reels, exportable analytics and deeper audience insight into who is watching. It also lets team members work on an account without sharing the password, and increases linked devices, business broadcast credits on WhatsApp and Business Agent response capacity.

At the top, Expert ($149 per month) and Max ($499 per month) are built for teams operating at scale, offering the highest levels of feature access and Business Agent capacity in the lineup.

AI capacity is the upsell

A consistent pattern runs through the tiers: the more a customer pays, the more AI they get. For individuals that means larger media-generation allowances, while for businesses it means more responses from the Meta Business Agent. In effect, Meta is metering its AI as a quota attached to the subscription price, rather than charging for the assistant as a standalone product.

Why it matters

The launch is the clearest signal yet of how Meta plans to recoup its AI investment from consumers and small businesses. Rather than putting a direct price on the assistant, the company is using AI capacity as the ingredient that justifies higher tiers, layered on top of the verification and reach perks it already sells.

The bundle structure also consolidates Meta's scattered subscription products into a single relationship per user, with a stated roadmap to pull in Edits and AI glasses. If that happens, Meta One becomes an everything-subscription spanning apps, creator tools, AI and hardware, competing with paid tiers from rival AI assistants while drawing on Meta's enormous existing user base.

The business side is arguably the more revealing move. Pricing Business Agent capacity up to $499 per month turns AI agents into metered business infrastructure, closer to enterprise software pricing than to social media perks. How much demand exists at those price points will be an early test of whether Meta's AI monetization can match its AI ambition.
