The project's homepage carries a matching tagline, billing it as "the easiest way to transfer files across devices."
How the transfer flow works
The workflow, as the site describes it, is deliberately spare. You open snapdrop.me in a browser on one device, and the page tells you to open Snapdrop on the other devices you want to send files to. Content then moves between the active sessions — no account to create, no app to install, no pairing code to exchange, according to the Hacker News post's no-setup, no-signup framing.
The homepage's interface text sketches in the rest. A "File Received" event shows the incoming filename. A setting labeled "Ask to save each file before downloading" lets recipients confirm each file before it lands on disk instead of saving everything automatically. The trade-offs
A browser-only, no-signup tool of this kind comes with inherent limits.
